Mamma Mia returns! The musical comes in the German-language original production with the translation by Michael Kunze and Ruth Deny, from 16.01. to 03.02.2019 in the Vienna Stadthalle.

22 of the most popular ABBA songs tell the sunny and cheerful story of Mamma Mia:

A hot summer in the Aegean Sea. On the eve of her wedding, Sophie's longing to finally meet her father leads three men back to the island they last entered 20 years ago. Sophie's mother Donna finds herself confronted with her past, and Donna's best friends from those days complete the cheerful chaos.

Mamma Mia's music and lyrics are by Benny Anderssen & Björn Ulvaeus, the book by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. Mark Thompson is responsible for the stage design, Howard Harrison for lighting design, Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken for sound design, and Martin Koch for musical supervision, additional material and arrangements.

45 years after ABBA was founded, its fame and popularity continues unabated. With over 380 million records sold, they are among the most successful bands in music history. Since its premiere in 1999, the musical Mamma Mia has attracted more than 60 million visitors in 440 cities worldwide. The musical-based feature film of the same name with Meryl Streep from 2008 is the most internationally successful musical film ever. The ABBA Museum, which opened in 2013, also attracts more than a million visitors to Stockholm every year.
