Alex Kristan – 50 Shades of Schmäh

Alex Kristan has turned 50, or as the optimist in him says, the first third of life is over. And because his thirst for action is still greater than his nightly urge to use the bathroom, he’s taking this milestone as an opportunity to treat himself to a new solo show. After all, when you suddenly find yourself in the 50+ target group as a so-called best ager, the only thing that helps against lead in the legs and silver in the hair is a healthy dose of humor.

Apparently, 50 is the new 30. Or does that only apply within city limits? Even if 10 p.m. becomes the new midnight, your new skincare routine doesn’t necessarily have to be Voltaren instead of Nivea. It’s still worth buying long-life milk. Making diet plans, dyeing hair, whitening teeth – all that is for pop-up seniors who see kraut-funding as a detox cure. His motto, on the other hand, is: being sensible is like being dead, only earlier – and it brings the brat back to life.

Exactly at that tipping point in life, somewhere between looking well-groomed and being taken care of, you start asking yourself whether everything really used to be better, and if so, why wasn’t it? Shortsightedness is now compensated by farsightedness, and as long as the cake is still more expensive than the candles on it, you’re not old anyway.

Alex Kristan’s alter egos, of course, accompany him on this journey and stand by him with advice and support when it comes to the truly essential questions in the life of a man supposedly in his prime. It’s a start-up into a new stage of life in which you play gout or truth.

And the truth is, he’s 42 net – excluding VAT. Growing older is a very beautiful thing. Especially when you consider the alternative.
