Harry Pepl (tape) & The (Lonely) Single Swinger Band (A)

Harry Pepl, the world-class Austrian composer and jazz guitarist who died in 2005, the "giant of improvisation" ("Le Monde"), returns to the stage!

The quartet interacts with Pepl by means of previously unreleased recordings from his last creative period (1996-2005), the bitterly ironic music of "Harry Pepl's Lonely Single Swinger Band". For this music, Pepl played all the instruments himself (guitar, synthesizers, piano, vocals, drums) and recorded them instrument by instrument in his own recording studio in Hernstein, Lower Austria, creating spherical and very intense improvisations, like an inner dialogue.

This extensive material is used as a starting point, allowing him to interact and improvise with the legend again and again. It is as if Harry Pepl were still on stage and playing together with the live musicians...
