With this program, MONTI BETON has taken on the British rock band Kinks, who today stand out like a monument from what remains of British commercial pop. The impressive repertoire of Ray Davies and THE KINKS, the majority of whose hits have dominated the international charts for more than thirty years, is the subject of this program. In their fascinating entirety, they have endured as an art form today, something that only a few bands in this profession have managed to achieve. Just the right challenge for MONTI BETON. In the two-hour live performance, not only the greatest hits such as "Waterloo Sunset", "You Really Got Me" and "Sunny Afternoon" are interpreted, but also lesser-known titles such as "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" or "Celluloid Heroes". Each individual song was specially arranged, i.e. different tempos, different instrumentation and, in some cases, different song structures were chosen. The 7-piece band placed particular emphasis on the ingenious choruses and creative guitar figures. However, some songs are untouchable in their genius and are therefore realized almost 1 : 1.
