That the waltz-drenched “Duidu, Duidu” and its relaxed counterpart “Dudidubidu” are actually only a stone’s throw apart – not much more than “a warm embracing dance away” from each other – has long been clear to the masters of Mnozil Brass. For more than thirty years, the seven virtuosos have effortlessly navigated with their gleaming brass instruments between Johann Strauss and Frank Sinatra, between Shostakovich and Prince, or passionately from Schubert over to their kindred spirits in Queen. Strauss was the first to produce hits by the dozen, he employed an arranger to work faster, and he understood that together with his brothers, he could reproduce his sound worldwide. He was the first to blur the line between “high” and “low” art and became a mass phenomenon as the Waltz King – never have the cash registers rung sweeter.
