“OVO” Presents a Spectacular World of Creepy-Crawlies!
Cirque du Soleil’s Brilliant Artistic “Egg”
The arena show will visit seven more German cities as well as Vienna in spring 2027.
“OVO”, Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed arena show, offers a fast-paced, colourful and humorous kaleidoscope of extraordinary artistic perfection. The incredibly diverse world of insects provides an ironic blueprint for the action on stage, which resembles a nest full of acrobatics and comedy. The vibrant, high-contrast world of crawling creatures, with its dazzling costumes and striking sets, is a wonderful treat for the whole family. “OVO”, which redefines the limits of the human body, will also tour Hannover, Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg, Vienna, Leipzig, Cologne and Nuremberg in spring 2027.
Audiences plunge headfirst into a universe teeming with life. Noisy, lively scenes alternate with quiet, emotional moments. A mysterious, oversized egg puzzles all the performers, acrobats and clowns, who bring their insect-inspired costumes and characters to life. Mighty crickets are catapulted into the air from a trampoline, while a hypnotic spider contorts itself in its web until it becomes almost unrecognisable.
“OVO”, which means “egg” in Portuguese, is a timeless symbol that runs like a golden thread throughout the spectacle. Amid all the crawling and buzzing, there is naturally room for love, too, as the formidable ladybug discovers her feelings for a lively, foreign fly. And, as always with Cirque du Soleil, “OVO” is packed with extraordinary acrobatic feats.
Fifty-three acrobats and musicians create a spectacle that challenges the imagination. “OVO” has already captivated more than 10 million people in 47 countries.
