You can look forward to a contemplative, pre-Advent concert evening that is both atmospheric and musically demanding, featuring BACH for solo violin and organ, as well as wonderful works by Rheinberger, Ysaÿe and Schumann.

With the Hofburg Chapel bathed in colourful light, experience two internationally award-winning musicians who have been performing together at the Hofburg Chapel for five years. Julian Walder performs on an Anselmo Bellosio violin dating from 1786. Two years ago, he made his solo debut in the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna and has since performed around the world, particularly in Japan. At the organ, Robert Kovács performs for you; he is a partner of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony. The Vienna Boys’ Choir and members of the orchestra and choir of the Vienna State Opera are known as Hofmusikkapelle (Court Music Orchestra) and, as such, perform High Mass in the Chapel of the Imperial Palace on Sundays and religious holidays.

In the chapel, the oldest part of the castle, the Court Music Orchestra performs works by old and new masters. The Hofmusikkapelle consists exclusively of a group of the Vienna Boys’ Choir and members of the orchestra and choir of the Vienna State Opera.
