WALTZ CONCERT IN THE PARK
with the
SOLOISTS OF THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC

Monday, 31 August 2026, 7:30 PM

It has become a cherished tradition for the soloists of the Vienna Philharmonic to present their annual waltz concert in the Theater im Park, featuring the music of the Strauss dynasty, Franz Lehár, Robert Stolz, and others.

With overtures, the most popular waltzes such as Wiener Blut and G’schichten aus dem Wienerwald, to name just a few, lively galops, and spirited polkas, the concert will, as every year, conclude with Johann Strauss II’s Blue Danube Waltz. Anyone wishing to dance along is warmly invited to join in!

As a special guest, we welcome the enchanting soprano Cornelia Horak, who will delight the audience with famous pieces such as Johann Strauss’s Schwipslied for added cheer, as well as hits like Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume. Additionally, well-known songs by Robert Stolz, such as Im Prater blühn wieder die Bäume and Du sollst der Kaiser meiner Seele sein, will of course also be included.

Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, a knowledgeable connoisseur of the repertoire, will once again guide the program with charm and surprise the audience with background stories about the individual works that you, dear audience, may not yet know.

Echoing the message of the popular and globally broadcast “Great” New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic from the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, all participants see this concert as a message of peace for the audience in a time of great unrest and uncertainty.
